Telangana: A Haven for Arts and Culture, Says Minister Jupally Krishna Rao

Telangana is a treasure trove for the arts, with numerous folk arts, classical arts, music, and dance forms flourishing here, said Minister of Tourism and Culture, Jupally Krishna Rao. The Minister attended a dance drama program called “Kakatiyam Part 3,” presented by Padma Shri awardee and renowned dancer, Dr. Padmaja Reddy, at Ravindra Bharathi.

Showcasing Kakatiya Grandeur

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Jupally highlighted that the Kakatiyas supported many literary, cultural, and artistic forms, including Perini dance. He praised Dr. Padmaja Reddy for bringing to life the grandeur and excellence of the Kakatiyas through the dance drama “Kakatiyam,” which vividly depicts the traditions, customs, and royal grandeur of the Kakatiya period, including rulers like Rudramadevi.

Encouragement for Artists

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Telangana government is striving to develop arts, culture, and literature and is encouraging artists. Recently, as part of these efforts, the government awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs to each Padma Shri awardee.

Government Initiatives

The Minister also mentioned that the government will take steps in the coming days to encourage all types of folk, tribal, and classical artists in Telangana.
