Red Sanders Seizure in Sanipaya: One Arrested

In a significant operation, the Task Force police seized eight logs of red sanders and arrested one person in the forest area of Sanipaya, Annamaiah district. The operation, led by Task Force In-Charge and Tirupati District SP L. Subbarayudu and supervised by Task Force SP P. Srinivas, saw DSP Chenchu Babu and RSI Lingadhar’s team join forces with local forest department staff on Friday. The team commenced combing operations from the Sanipaya base camp, moving through Rayavaram, Avula Dari, Saraswati Katavu, and Mudumpadu forest areas.

Seizure Details and Arrest

During the operation, the Task Force encountered individuals carrying red sander logs in the prohibited forest area of Lomora. Upon being challenged, the suspects dropped the logs and attempted to flee. However, the Task Force pursued and apprehended one individual while the others escaped into the dense forest cover. The arrested person was identified as Ramesh (32) from Attipattu, Veerappanoor Panchayat, Thiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu. Along with Ramesh’s arrest, the Task Force seized eight red Sanders logs from the area.

Ongoing Investigation

The seized logs and the arrested individual were taken to the Tirupati Task Force Police Station, where CI Suresh Kumar has registered a case and is investigating the matter. The Task Force is determined to capture the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.
