The Sharannavaratri festivities began in full grandeur at Indrakeeladri yesterday. Temple authorities have made all necessary arrangements for devotees, ensuring a smooth experience. Due to the strict regulations this year, entry into the sanctum sanctorum is not permitted. However, devotees perform their special pujas in the temple’s outemplesises.

Significance of the Prasadam

On Gayatri Devi’s daredevil day, coconut rice is distributed as prasad to the devotees. This prasadam holds great spiritual significance and is considered to be highly sacred. Priests explain that consuming this prasadam brings both health benefits and spiritual grace. Those who perform the special pujas and partake of the prasadam are believed to be blessed by the Goddess with divine energy.

As part of the ongoing Sharannavaratri celebrations, devotees are flocking to Vijayawada’s Indrakeeladri temple for the darshan of Gayatri Devi today. Reciting the Gayatri Mantra and offering Kanakambara flowers during the puja holds special significance. Priests are distributing coconut rice as prasadam, believed to enhance spiritual strength.
