Brahmotsavams Begin in Tirumala: CM Chandrababu Offers Silk Garments

The grand Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara began today in Tirumala with the traditional “Dwajarohanam” ceremony. Amidst Vedic chants and rituals, the sacred Garuda flag was hoisted, symbolizing the official start of the festival, which holds immense significance for devotees worldwide.

Garuda Flag Hoisted to Inaugurate Brahmotsavams

On the first day of the Brahmotsavams, the “Dwajarohanam” (flag-hoisting) ceremony holds special importance. In the presence of Lord Malayappa Swamy, along with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, the temple priests raised the Garuda flag on the Dhwajasthambham (flagpole). This signifies the invitation to all deities and the Ashtadikpalakas (guardians of the eight directions) to attend and bless the festival’s proceedings.

The Brahmotsavams are a spiritual celebration for devotees, featuring various vahana sevas, unique decorations, and daily rituals. Thousands of devotees flock to witness the divine grace of Lord Venkateswara and experience spiritual fulfillment during these sacred days.

CM Chandrababu Naidu’s Offering of Silk Garments

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, along with his wife Bhuvaneshwari, will offer “pattu vast reams” (silk garments) to Lord Venkateswara this evening. This offering symbolizes devotion and respect for the deity. The silk garments are considered auspicious and are part of the longstanding tradition followed by devotees and dignitaries.

CM Chandrababu will also participate in the Pedda Sesha Vahana Seva following the garment offering. Lord Venkateswara is paraded on the Sesha Vahanam, a vehicle symbolizing the divine serpent Adishesha. This procession is conducted with great devotion and is a visual treat for devotees eagerly awaiting such occasions.

Celebrations with Deep Devotion

The Brahmotsavams in Tirumala are celebrated with utmost devotion and grandeur. Each festival day features a unique vahana seva, during which the deity is mounted on different vehicles, symbolizing various divine aspects.
