The Andhra Pradesh state government is taking significant steps to improve the public distribution system to benefit the poor. The state’s Mines, Geology & Excise Minister, Kollu Ravindra, emphasized the importance of providing quality goods at affordable prices to the needy during the inauguration of a special counter for rice and toor dal sales at the Machilipatnam Rythu Bazaar. Alongside District Joint Collector Geetanjali Sharma, the minister inspected the quality and weight of the items at the ration shop, personally distributing supplies to several cardholders.

Ensuring Quality and Fair Distribution

Minister Kollu Ravindra stated that the state government is committed to strengthening the public distribution system to ensure that every beneficiary gets their rightful share of ration supplies. He asserted that the government is dedicated to eliminating ration mafia activities, which have undermined the system’s integrity in the past. The previous administration had provided eight types of commodities, including rice and toor dal. However, under the current YSRCP government, there have been complaints about the lack of additional items beyond rice.

Addressing Past Mismanagement

The minister criticized the previous government for rendering the ration system ineffective, which was originally established to ensure that the poor had enough food. He highlighted that the current administration aims to restore the system to its full potential, ensuring that the needy receive all necessary commodities. The YSRCP government is planning to reintroduce a range of items to the ration distribution, benefiting every segment of the population.

Improving Public Administration

The minister proudly announced that the state is now entering an era of true public administration. The government’s efforts are focused on planning and implementing strategies to provide various types of commodities to the poor. Minister Kollu Ravindra encouraged people to report any malpractices or discrepancies in the ration distribution system directly to him. This open-door policy aims to enhance transparency and accountability, ensuring that the public distribution system operates smoothly and effectively.

A Call for Vigilance

Minister Ravindra urged vigilance from the public to maintain the integrity of the ration distribution system. By eliminating corruption and ensuring that the supplies reach the intended beneficiaries, the government hopes to create a fair and efficient system that meets the needs of the poor. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to uplift the marginalized sections of society, providing them with the basic necessities required for a dignified life.

In conclusion, the Andhra Pradesh government, led by Minister Kollu Ravindra, is making significant strides in revamping the public distribution system to ensure quality goods for the poor. By addressing past mismanagement, improving public administration, and encouraging vigilance, the government aims to create a fair and effective system that benefits every citizen.
