IndIA Coalition Dominates in 11 Seats in Recent By-Elections

The by-election results for 13 assembly seats across seven states have been announced, with the India coalition showing a significant lead in 11 seats. The counting began at 8 AM, and as the results unfold, it becomes evident that the India bloc is gaining a strong foothold.

India Bloc’s Strong Performance

The India coalition candidates have managed to secure leads in 11 out of the 13 seats, leaving only two seats where the NDA candidates are ahead. The by-elections were held on July 10 in West Bengal (4 seats), Himachal Pradesh (3 seats), Uttarakhand (2 seats), Punjab, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh (1 seat each).

Key Wins Across States

In Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Mohinder Bhagat won the Jalandhar seat, defeating the BJP candidate Sheetal by a margin of 37,000 votes. This victory marks a significant achievement for the AAP in Punjab.

West Bengal has seen a sweeping performance by TMC, with their candidates leading in all four seats – Maniktala, Bagda, Ranaghat South, and Raiganj. This continues the TMC’s strong presence in the state.

Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

In Himachal Pradesh, Kamlesh Thakur, wife of the state’s Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, leads in Dehra. The Congress candidate is also ahead in Nalagarh, while the BJP maintains a lead in Hamirpur.

Uttarakhand sees Congress leading in both Badrinath and Mangalur, showcasing the party’s resilience in the state.

Other States’ Performances

In Madhya Pradesh, Congress candidate Dheeran Shah leads in Amarwara, indicating a competitive political landscape. Bihar’s Rupali seat sees the JD(U) candidate in the lead, adding to the party’s strength in the region. Tamil Nadu’s Vikravandi has DMK candidate Anniyur Siva in the lead, further solidifying DMK’s influence.

In conclusion, the by-election results have showcased a strong performance by the India coalition, dominating in 11 out of 13 seats. This marks a significant moment in Indian politics as the India bloc gains momentum against the NDA.
