Excise, Tourism, and Cultural Affairs Minister Jupally Krishna Rao emphasized that education is the key to achieving freedom and equality. He was addressing the centenary celebrations – Sarvamata Sammelanam organized by the Sri Narayana Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha at Ravindra Bharathi. Minister Jupally, the chief guest, paid floral tributes to the statue of Sri Narayana Guru, a renowned spiritual guru and social reformer from Kerala.

Impact of Sri Narayana Guru

Minister Jupally highlighted the significant contributions of Sri Narayana Guru, who protested against superstitions and caste discrimination. He remarked that Narayana Guru envisioned spiritual freedom and social independence for those oppressed by the caste system. Jupally praised Narayana Guru’s efforts in promoting spiritual enlightenment and social humanity, noting that he reformed religion to suit contemporary needs. He stressed the need to follow Narayana Guru’s ideals to achieve a better society.

Addressing Social Disparities

Jupally pointed out that despite decades and centuries passing, social inequalities persist due to the mindset of individuals and the failures of governments. He criticized the system’s flaws and emphasized that self-reformation and societal reformation are the true meanings of education. According to him, the current education system lacks this essence, leading to a decline in moral values. He expressed concern over the rise in crimes and atrocities in society, urging the youth to change their mindset and everyone to take responsibility for guiding them on the right path.

The event witnessed the participation of various distinguished personalities, including former National BC Commission Chairman Justice Eshwaraiah, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, former minister Srinivas Goud, President of Sri Narayana Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha Saibaba Goud, General Secretary Upender, Vice Presidents Murali Manohar and Chennayya, Treasurer Jangaiah, among others.
