With a focus on environmental protection and the preservation of Hindu traditions, a new initiative calls for planting a Jammi tree in every temple across Telangana. As part of this program, former MLA Anjayya Yadav planted a Jammi tree at Sri Venkateswara Temple in Eklas Khan Pet village in the Shadnagar constituency.

Recognizing the importance of preserving natural resources in Telangana, the BRS government initiated the “Haritha Haram” program to promote tree planting, especially the Jammi tree. Former MP Joganapalli Santosh Kumar, the founder of the Green Challenge, has encouraged people to plant trees for years, highlighting the importance of protecting the environment. Under his leadership, the Green Challenge initiative has been planting trees extensively over the last six to seven years, setting an inspiring example. The “A Jammi Tree for Every Temple” initiative is also part of this broader Green Challenge campaign.

The tree is particularly revered during the festival of Dussehra. Anjayya Yadav urged everyone to plant a Jammi tree in front of every temple by the upcoming Dussehra festival.

Anjayya Yadav called on the youth to increase their awareness of environmental protection, trees’ importance, and their role in our traditions. He emphasized that preserving trees is not just about protecting nature but also safeguarding our cultural heritage for future generations.
