Hyderabad Police Issue Alert on ‘Dhar Gang’ House Burglaries

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police have issued an advisory urging residents to remain vigilant following a series of house burglaries by the notorious ‘Dhar Gang’ on the outskirts of the city.

Gang’s Modus Operandi

The Dhar Gang, originating from the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, is known for its members spreading across various districts in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The district is infamous for illegal arms manufacturing and smuggling syndicates.

Criminal Activities

Operating in small groups of three to five, the gang conducts a thorough reconnaissance of targeted houses during the day. They often spend the day in open spaces nearby, consuming liquor and planning their break-ins. Equipped with hand tools and weapons, they typically strike between 12 pm and 4 am. To avoid suspicion, they move around in shared auto rickshaws and scale compound walls to access houses, avoiding main gates.

Recent Incidents

The gang’s primary targets are gated communities and isolated villa projects. They are known to break into locked houses and steal valuables. In some instances, they have attacked residents who attempted to catch them.

Police Measures

In response to multiple break-ins in Hayathnagar, the police have intensified night patrolling. “We have instructed all patrolling parties to increase surveillance, especially during the night,” stated a police official.

Public Advisory

Residents are advised to enhance security measures, remain alert, and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately. The Rachakonda police emphasize the importance of community vigilance to prevent further incidents.

Stay safe and help the police in their efforts to curb the activities of the ‘Dhar Gang’ by being aware and reporting any suspicious behavior.
