Officials clarified that the pilgrimage has been halted on both routes. The decision was made to ensure the safety of pilgrims due to continuous rainfall on the Baltal and Pahalgam routes since last night.

Although the weather department forecasted no heavy rains today, there are chances of sporadic showers. Given this, officials decided to halt the pilgrimage as a precautionary measure. The temperature at the Amarnath cave shrine and Sheshnag peak is expected to be a maximum of 15 degrees Celsius, with nighttime temperatures potentially dropping to 5 degrees Celsius.

The weather department indicated that there will be no significant rainfall over the next four days, although there might be thunderstorms with light showers. Officials advised pilgrims to stay informed of weather reports and follow safety guidelines.
