Minister Satya Kumar Yadav praised Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s contributions to nation-building and his efforts to bring the country to a prestigious status. He stated that Mukherjee’s legacy would forever remain in the hearts of millions of Indians. Elected as a legislator at a young age, Mukherjee served in Nehru’s cabinet and established numerous industries. He opposed the Nehru-Liaquat Pact and left Nehru’s government. Later, he joined the RSS and worked nationwide under the ideology of “One Caste, One Religion.”
Union Minister Srinivas Varma’s Remarks
Union Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma highlighted Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s efforts to integrate Jammu into India. He mentioned that the BJP government has fulfilled Mukherjee’s vision by making Jammu an integral part of the country. When there were restrictions on traveling to Kashmir, the abrogation of Article 370 advanced Mukherjee’s dreams, which the BJP government has carried forward. He enjoyed serving as a Union Minister under Prime Minister Modi, who abolished Article 370.
