Lokesh ‘Red Book’ Explained by Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha

PaperDabba News Desk – [Jun 27, 2024] Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has clarified the reasons behind Nara Lokesh’s creation of the ‘Red Book’ ahead of the elections. She emphasized that the book was not made out of vindictiveness, but to document the actions of officials who violated norms under the previous government.

Explanation Behind the ‘Red Book’

Nara Lokesh, the general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), introduced the ‘Red Book’ as a means to keep track of government officials who, according to him, acted unlawfully and targeted TDP members under the instructions of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). Lokesh asserted that these officials had filed false cases and misused their authority, and he promised to hold them accountable once TDP comes to power.

Government’s Stance on Accountability

Vangalapudi Anitha, addressing the media, stated that the creation of the ‘Red Book’ was driven by a need for accountability and justice, not revenge. She questioned the critics, asking why they would wait this long if it were about personal vendettas. Anitha reiterated that the actions against officials listed in the book would be lawful and aimed at those who compromised their duties and integrity.

Focus on State Welfare

Anitha highlighted that their government is focused on four key areas: eradicating drug abuse, ensuring women’s safety, filling vacancies in the police department, and improving police welfare. She criticized the previous administration for neglecting these areas and vowed to restore the department’s effectiveness and morale.

Red Book: A Tool for Justice

Lokesh has been open about the ‘Red Book’ during his Yuvagalam Paadayatra, where he publicly showcased it to emphasize transparency and accountability. He maintained that this book would serve as a reference for taking legal actions against those who wronged TDP members and abused their power under the YSRCP regime.

In conclusion, Vangalapudi Anitha clarified that the ‘Red Book’ is a measure for ensuring justice and upholding the law against those who misused their power. The TDP aims to restore integrity and focus on the state’s development and welfare.
