Did Venkateswara Swamy’s Ornaments Return in the Same Form? - Strong Allegations by Devineni Uma

PaperDabba News Desk: 24th September 2024

Former Minister and TDP (Telugu Desam Party) State General Secretary, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, has made serious allegations against the YSRCP government. According to his accusations, massive corruption took place in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), with crores of rupees misappropriated. He raised questions particularly about the ornaments of Lord Venkateswara, demanding a response from the Jagan government.

Controversy Over Tirumala Ornaments

Devineni Uma questioned whether the ornaments of Lord Venkateswara, which were taken out of Tirumala, were returned in the same form. He demanded that Chief Minister Jagan Reddy provide an answer. According to Uma, there are suspicions and accusations that irregularities took place in the handling and usage of these ornaments.

Shreevani Trust Scandal

While addressing the media, Devineni Uma alleged that under the YSRCP government, hundreds of crores were looted under the pretext of the Shreevani Trust. He accused YV Subba Reddy, a key YSRCP leader, of illegally selling over 3.75 lakh seva (service) tickets in black markets, looting crores of rupees from devotees in the process.

Attacks on Hindu Dharma?

Uma further alleged that YSRCP leaders, including Chief Minister Jagan Reddy, have acted against Hindu Dharma. He criticized YV Subba Reddy and his family for chanting non-Hindu prayers in the holy Tirumala, a place where the name of Govinda should be recited. This, according to Uma, is a clear attack on the sanctity of the Hindu faith.

Corruption in Tirumala

Devineni Uma claimed that massive corruption had taken place in Tirumala, including the misappropriation of crores of rupees in sacred offerings like ghee used in the temple. He pointed out that under Jagan’s rule, even materials related to the sacred laddu prasadam were exploited for financial gain. Uma alleged that the appointment of YV Subba Reddy, a person embroiled in CBI and ED cases, as the chairman of the Tirumala board was evidence of Jagan’s direct interest in Tirumala’s affairs.

Devotees’ Anger Across the Globe

Uma stated that devotees of Lord Venkateswara, not only in India but around the world, are deeply hurt and angry over the corruption and mistreatment of the temple’s sanctity under Jagan’s government. He emphasized that Jagan’s actions and the YSRCP’s policies have severely offended the sentiments of Hindu devotees.

Devineni Uma demanded a full and transparent investigation into all these irregularities. He urged the government to take strict action against those responsible, to safeguard the faith and emotions of millions of devotees of Lord Venkateswara.
