Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao has launched a scathing attack on YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, questioning his ability to handle political setbacks. In a series of remarks on social media, Ganta criticized Jagan’s recent actions and statements, indicating a sign of frustration and desperation.
Jagan’s Reaction to Political Defeat
Ganta Srinivasa Rao, using the platform ‘Ex,’ expressed his disbelief at Jagan’s conduct after the electoral defeat. “Can you handle being out of power for just 40 days, Jagan? The people of Andhra Pradesh, fed up with your looting administration, gave an unprecedented verdict, denying you even the status of opposition. Are you unable to digest this massive rejection?”
He pointed out that the new coalition government had only been in power for over two months. Yet, Jagan and his supporters were already calling for the President’s rule and fresh elections, which Ganta viewed as an overreaction and a sign of panic.
Allegations of Corruption and Misconduct
Ganta did not hold back from listing the alleged wrongdoings of the previous YSRCP government. He cited numerous instances of what he called “misrule” and “anarchy” under Jagan’s leadership, including the harassment and death of Dr Sudhakar, a Dalit doctor, during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also brought up the case of Ananta Babu, a YSRCP MLC, accused of murdering a Dalit driver.
“Five years of your rule were marked by chaos and atrocities,” Ganta remarked. “You created your own constitution and operated with impunity, victimizing hundreds of opposition leaders, workers, and innocent citizens.”
Travel Incident and Public Perception
Referring to a recent incident involving Jagan’s travel from Vizianagaram to Tadepalli, Ganta mocked Jagan for switching vehicles shortly after starting his journey. “You traveled for nine hours without any issues but switched to your own Fortuner after just ten minutes in the safari vehicle provided. People are observing these actions and your attempts to smear the government.”
Call for Constructive Opposition
Ganta urged Jagan to focus on fighting for public issues rather than engaging in political conspiracies. “Fight for the people and their problems; they will appreciate it. But if you resort to conspiracies because you can’t digest your defeat, the people who gave you double-digit seats might reduce you to single digits next time,” he warned.
Ganta’s remarks highlight the intense political rivalry in Andhra Pradesh, with both sides gearing up for continued political battles.
Jagan’s handling of the electoral defeat and the TDP’s aggressive stance indicate a tumultuous political climate ahead for Andhra Pradesh.
