The deteriorating health conditions in Andhra Pradesh have raised serious concerns, with former YSRCP MLA Dr. Monditoka Jaganmohan Rao criticizing the TDP government for its lack of action on public health issues.
Increasing Health Issues Highlight Government Failure
Speaking at the media party central office on Tuesday, Dr. Jaganmohan Rao expressed alarm over the rapidly declining health conditions in the state. He noted a drastic increase in diarrhea cases, attributed to the government’s failure to provide safe drinking water—a basic necessity.
“The number of diarrhea cases is increasing drastically every day, indicating the government’s inability to provide even the most basic necessity—safe drinking water,” he said.
Political Vendettas Over Public Welfare
Dr. Rao accused the TDP government of prioritizing political vendettas over the well-being of the people. “Instead of addressing these pressing health concerns, the government is busy targeting YSRCP workers,” he stated.
During his previous tenure, he praised former chief minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for bringing revolutionary changes in the education and medical sectors and prioritizing free healthcare for everyone.
Medical Infrastructure Neglect
Dr. Rao pointed out that not a single government medical college was established during Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure. He lamented the current government’s negligence, which led to the cancellation of the opening of five new medical colleges this year.
“The TDP betrayed medical students by reversing its stand on self-finance seats in government medical colleges,” he said. Although the TDP promised to abolish the self-finance system while in opposition, they continued it once in power.
Public Health Crisis Needs Immediate Attention
The former MLA emphasized the urgent need for the government to prioritize public health. He called for immediate action to improve healthcare infrastructure and ensure safe drinking water for all citizens.
“The health of our people should be the top priority. The government must act now to address these critical issues,” he urged.
The ongoing public health crisis in Andhra Pradesh demands immediate and effective intervention from the government to safeguard the well-being of its citizens.
