An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 on the Ritcher scale jolted Nepal with severe tremors felt in parts of North-Northeastern India at around 1.57 am on Wednesday, November 9. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground and the epicentre was in Nepal.

This is the third earthquake to hit Nepal in the 24-hour cycle. An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 was reported in Nepal at 8:52 pm on Tuesday, November 8. A 4.5 magnitude quake rocked Nepal in the early morning on Tuesday. NCS reported, the earthquake occurred 155km northeast of Kathmandu at a depth of 100 kilometres.
On October 19, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 shook Kathmandu and on July 31 another earthquake of magnitude 6.0 took place around Martim Birta of Khotang district, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre (NEMRC).
