Petition Filed for Disqualification of 10 BRS MLAs
Ten BRS (Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi) MLAs have been accused of defecting to the Congress party, leading to petitions for their disqualification. BRS MLAs, elected on the BRS ticket, have now switched allegiance to Congress, prompting the BRS leaders to take action.
BRS leaders such as Harish Rao, KTR, Sabita Indra Reddy, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, Padma Rao Goud, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Rajashekar Reddy, Kalera Venkatesh, Mutha Gopal, Maganti Gopinath, Dr. Kalvakuntla Sanjay, and KP Vivekanand Goud submitted the petitions to Speaker Prasad Kumar.
Earnest Petition on Protocol Violations
In addition to the disqualification petitions, BRS MLAs also brought to the Speaker’s attention the protocol violations occurring in their constituencies. Despite losing the elections, Congress candidates are prioritized over the BRS MLAs, leading to negligence towards the elected representatives.
The petitions address two main issues: action against party defectors and measures against protocol violations.
Speaker’s Response
Speaker Prasad Kumar accepted the petitions and assured us of a thorough investigation. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against the defecting MLAs and the protocol violations reported by the BRS members.
