Eligibility
To be eligible for the scheme, one must apply at least one month before the wedding. The bride must belong to a minority community and be a resident of Andhra Pradesh. The groom must be at least 21 years old, and the bride must be at least 18 years old. The annual income of the bride’s parents should be less than Rs. 2 lakh in urban areas and less than Rs. 1.5 lakh in rural areas.
Required Documents
Applicants need to provide the birth certificates of both the bride and groom, their Aadhaar cards, recent photos, passport size photos, marriage certificate, ration card, voter ID, wedding invitation card, residence proof, and bank account details with IFSC code, MICR code, and bank branch name. These documents must be scanned and uploaded with a size between 50 KB and 150 KB.
Application Process
Once the government portal is open, applications can be submitted online. After applying, documents must be sent to the local Tehsildar. The Tehsildar will forward them to the Minority Welfare Officer, which takes about a week. The District Minority Welfare Officer will credit the money into the bride’s account online, ten days before the wedding.
By meeting these eligibility criteria and submitting the required documents correctly, one can benefit from the Dulhan Scheme. Ensure all documents are prepared and submitted accurately.
