Minister’s Criticism of YSRCP
Health Minister Satyakumar has strongly criticized the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for failing to secure funds from the central government over the past five years. He questioned why the YSRCP did not try to bring in funds, unlike Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who has worked tirelessly to secure financial aid from the centre. Satyakumar stated that the YSRCP had been making false allegations even before the coalition government had completed a month in office.
Questioning Jagan’s Efforts
Satyakumar also criticized YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy for his numerous visits to Delhi, which yielded no results. Despite his frequent trips, Jagan failed to secure the necessary funds for the state. In contrast, the current government has proactively engaged with the central government to address the state’s financial needs.
Demand for Rs. 1000 Crore
The Health Minister revealed that he has requested a special grant of Rs. 1000 crore under the National Health Mission (NHM) for the state. After meeting with several central ministers in Delhi, Satyakumar emphasized the need for these funds to build health infrastructure, including the construction of health centre buildings.
Discussion on State Issues
Satyakumar shared that discussions were held on various political issues affecting the state. Central ministers were briefed on the decisions taken by the state government within the first 40 days of its tenure. Despite the financial burden on the state government, measures such as increasing social pensions, providing free sand, setting up Anna canteens, and implementing skill development programs were explained to the central leaders.
