The chairman of the Haryana State Commission for Women got into a heated argument with a female police officer over a case of a marital dispute, telling the officer to “go out” and threatening to launch a departmental investigation, news agency PTI reported.
The assault allegedly occurred on Friday in Kaithal, Haryana, at a meeting between Renu Bhatia, the head of the state women’s commission, and police personnel.
In the video, Bhatia is seen asking the woman police officer, “You could have slapped him (the man) tightly. You got the girl checked (medically) thrice. Get out! There will be a departmental inquiry against you.”

Bhatia said she had the woman’s physical condition assessed three times but not the male when the officer objected. Bhatia told the SHO to lead the cop outside as she attempted to reply.
“We have not come here to get insulted,” the officer stated. In response, Bhatia asked, “Are you here to get the girl insulted?” Bhatia questioned the officer once again why she had had the woman checked three times while the debate went on and she was being questioned about how she had insulted the woman. “Do not argue with me and go out,” Bhatia is seen in the video telling the woman police officer.
A different police officer then led the officer out of the conference room.
Bhatia was upset that the cop disobeyed her instruction to have the man’s health examined earlier.
Later, when addressing reporters, Bhatia said the man will have a checkup.
“You saw how she (the woman police officer) spoke when I asked her why she did not get the medical examination (of the man) conducted,” Bhatia informed reporters, PTI reported.
