Ganesh Visarjan Puja Vidhi
Anant Chaturdashi is the last day for Ganesh Chaturthi, which comes after 10 days, also known as the day of Visarjan. Lord Ganesha is welcomed on Ganesh Chaturthi with the same joy and excitement as he is bid adieu on Immersion Day. Followers bid adieu to Lord Ganesha with dance and music. The Visarjan day is September 9 this year.
On this auspicious day, Lord Ganesh’s idol is bid adieu by immersing in water. This is done after carrying the idol through the streets of the neighbourhood.
Before immersing Lord Ganesha’s idol, you should keep in mind that Lord Ganesha’s idol should be dressed in new clothes. During the worship, you should tie modak, money, durva grass and betel nut in a silk cloth and keep that bundle along with Lord Ganesha’s idol. After this, you should worship Lord Ganesha while also asking for forgiveness for any mistakes done. You should then immerse the idol with all respect and love.
