Arshdeep Singh faces abuse viral video: A video has surfaced on social media where a cricket enthusiast can be seen calling Arshdeep Singh “gaddar (traitor)” as the young pacer boarded the team bus parked outside the stadium. Arshdeep was even seen standing still for some time, staring at the person after hearing such an uncalled for remark. A man who witnessed the incident then lashed out at the fan for using such a harsh word for Arshdeep. The viral video also shows a few other officials joining in and asking the man to leave.
Arshdeep Singh has been subjected to personal attacks and vitriolic online abuse in the aftermath of Team India’s five-wicket loss to Pakistan in the Asia Cup. He has been vehemently trolled on social media for dropping a catch against Pakistan in the Ind vs Pak Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 clash on Sunday.

At the press conference after Team India’s loss to Sri Lanka in Asia Cup on Tuesday night, Rohit was asked about the dropped catch incident. The senior opener responded saying they don’t care about what’s being said on the internet.
“Arshdeep Singh was disappointed after the dropped catch, then he came back strongly in the 20th over. We don’t look much into social media, there is lots of crap happening,” Rohit said.
Among other cricketers, Virat Kohli, Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan too backed the young seamer.
“Under pressure, anyone can make a mistake. It’s a big match and the situation was tight,” Kohli said at the post-match press conference.
“I remember when I first played in the Champions Trophy. Against Pakistan, I remember I hit a very bad shot off Shahid Afridi. Till 5 am next morning, I was only staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep.
“I thought I’ll never get a game again, my career is over. So it’s natural to feel like this.”
