Revanth Reddy’s Broken Promises Spark Farmers’ Outrage
Revanth Reddy, known for his fiery speeches, is now under heavy criticism for failing to fulfill his promises, especially regarding the much-anticipated Rythu Bandhu payments and the loan waiver for farmers. His opponents, particularly from the ruling BRS party, have raised serious concerns about the Congress leader’s sincerity and actions in helping the farmers. The focus is on how Revanth’s pledges have yet to materialize during the elections, leaving the farmers in financial distress.
Loan Waiver and Rythu Bandhu Delays
During the election campaign, Revanth Reddy promised to implement a loan waiver up to ₹2 lakhs and enhance the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which offers crucial support to farmers. However, farmers have not seen the expected relief after coming into power. The delay in the loan waiver has hit farmers hard, forcing many to depend on private loans.
In a recent protest in Nangunur, former minister Harish Rao questioned Revanth Reddy’s commitment to the farmers. “Promises were made to provide farmers with ₹7,500 under Rythu Bandhu, but what happened now? Even the promised ₹5,000 has not been disbursed for the current crop cycle,” he said. Harish Rao’s remarks further fueled the ongoing dissatisfaction among the farming community.
BRS Challenges Congress on Farmers’ Welfare
Harish Rao also highlighted the stark contrast between the current Congress administration and the previous government led by KCR. According to him, under KCR’s rule, farmers enjoyed 24-hour electricity, timely fertilizers, and prompt crop procurement. In comparison, the Congress government has failed to match these efforts, leaving the farmers struggling.
“KCR provided consistent Rythu Bandhu payments, even during the pandemic. Farmers’ needs were prioritized, and procurement centers ensured that their crops were bought on time,” Harish Rao stated during the protest. He warned that the failure of the Congress government to fulfill its promises could lead to large-scale protests, with the possibility of farmers marching to the Secretariat if Dussehra does not meet their demands.
Farmers Demand Action from Congress
Farmers are growing increasingly impatient with Revanth Reddy’s leadership. Many are questioning his ability to bring about the promised reforms in the agricultural sector. The failure to implement the loan waiver and the delayed Rythu Bandhu payments are central issues in the farmers’ ongoing protests.
The BRS party is pressuring Revanth Reddy, reminding him of his promises and calling for immediate action. “If Revanth fails to meet the farmers’ demands by Dussehra, we will not hesitate to organize massive protests,” warned Harish Rao.
Is Revanth Reddy Failing the Farmers?
As the Dussehra deadline approaches, all eyes are on Revanth Reddy and the Congress government. Will they rise to the occasion and fulfill their promises, or will the farmers continue to suffer from unfulfilled pledges? Only time will tell, but the growing unrest in the farming community indicates that Revanth Reddy’s political journey could face major hurdles if immediate action is not taken.
