Minister of IT Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed that the causes behind the disruption of Microsoft services have been identified, and updates for resolution have been released. On Friday, a technical issue emerged in Microsoft Windows worldwide, resulting in a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) computer error.
Resolution Process for the Technical Issue
Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw responded to the Microsoft technical issue, stating that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) is continuously in touch with Microsoft. He confirmed that the causes of this technical issue have been identified. Additionally, he assured that the National Informatics Centre Network has not been impacted and that the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) is issuing technical advisories regarding this issue.
Blue Screen of Death Error
The BSOD error caused computers to shut down or restart. Windows failed to load correctly and displayed a message prompting users to restart their systems. This error impacted numerous services globally.
Impact on the Market
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) announced that the Microsoft disruption had no impact on its operations. In light of its influence on various global stock exchanges, the NSE responded. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) also confirmed that it was unaffected.
CrowdStrike Update Cause
Microsoft confirmed that the issue was caused by a CrowdStrike update. CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity firm that provides advanced security services to Windows and various other systems.
