Chhattisgarh Government’s Firm Stand Against Naxalism
Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Sharma, has confidently announced that the state government aims to solve the Naxalism problem within the next three years. Speaking at an event on Thursday, Sharma emphasized that the current government, led by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, is committed to implementing a unified civil memory and tackling Naxalism through strategic and inclusive measures.
Inclusive Approach to Bring Naxalites into Mainstream
The Deputy CM highlighted the government’s willingness to engage in dialogues with Naxalites, aiming to integrate them into mainstream society. “I firmly believe we can resolve the Naxalism issue within three years. In three years, you will be able to sit peacefully on the banks of the Indravati River. This is achievable under the capable leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai,” Sharma asserted.
Recent Naxalite Incident and Government’s Response
The Deputy CM’s comments came in the wake of a recent incident in Bijapur district, where an IED blast orchestrated by Naxalites resulted in the death of two Special Task Force personnel and injuries to four others. Addressing this tragic event, Sharma reiterated that the government does not believe in ending Naxalism through sheer firepower alone. “We are working on various aspects and will implement a comprehensive strategy. We are ready to hold unconditional talks with Naxalites. We can even communicate via phone or video call,” he added.
