Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed his deep concern over the tragic death of a child in Medchal district’s Jawahar Nagar due to a stray dog attack. He has ordered authorities to take immediate and effective measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.
Immediate Action Ordered
Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to take all necessary steps to curb the menace of stray dogs in the city and ensure that such incidents do not happen again. He emphasized the need for vigilance and proactive measures to avoid future occurrences.
Establishment of a Helpline
The Chief Minister has directed the setting up of a call centre or toll-free number to promptly receive complaints from the public regarding the stray dog menace. This move aims to facilitate quick responses and actions to prevent such unfortunate events.
Formation of Expert Committee
To tackle the issue effectively, Revanth Reddy suggested the formation of an expert committee consisting of veterinarians, representatives from Blue Cross, and other voluntary organizations. This committee will focus on creating strategies to prevent dog attacks, especially on children.
Precautionary Measures
Emphasizing the importance of preventive measures, the Chief Minister urged GHMC and municipal authorities to collaborate with local communities, including slum and colony ward committees, to address the stray dog problem. He stressed the need for a comprehensive approach involving community participation to ensure safer neighbourhoods.
