In a scathing attack on the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Budda Venkanna questioned the credibility of the white papers released by the YSRCP. He pointed out that the white papers are merely an attempt to cover up the misdeeds of the ruling party.
Polavaram Project and Chandrababu’s Efforts
Budda Venkanna praised former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s dedication to completing the Polavaram project. He emphasized that Naidu’s tours aim to achieve this goal. Venkanna stated, “Chandrababu is touring to ensure the completion of Polavaram, unlike the YSRCP, which has been inefficient in its governance over the past five years.”
Accountability and Transparency
He added that Chandrababu is responsible for explaining the state’s administration, so he is releasing white papers. Venkanna accused the YSRCP of holding press meetings out of fear that their corruption might be exposed. He said, “The YSRCP leaders are conducting press meets because they fear their corruption will be exposed through these white papers.”
Jagan’s Missteps and Public Discontent
Venkanna also criticized the actions taken by Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, highlighting the dismantling of Praja Vedika. He claimed that while Naidu increased pensions as soon as he became Chief Minister, Jagan immediately demolished Praja Vedika. This, according to Venkanna, is a testament to the priorities of the YSRCP government.
Garbage Tax Allegations
Continuing his tirade, Venkanna accused the YSRCP of transforming the state into a garbage dump over the past five years. He said, “You have turned the state into a garbage dump for five years, and now Chandrababu is cleaning it up. Can all this garbage be cleaned up in just 35 days?” This remark questioned the YSRCP’s governance and accountability.
Development Tours vs. Political Trips
Budda Venkanna defended Naidu’s trips to Delhi, asserting they were for the state’s development. He questioned Jagan’s trips to Delhi, implying they did not benefit the state’s development. “Chandrababu is touring Delhi for the state’s development. Did Jagan ever work for the state’s development during his trips to Delhi?” he asked.
Public Sentiment Against YSRCP
Venkanna claimed that the public’s disdain for the YSRCP is evident. He stated that even the people did not grant the opposition status, reflecting their dissatisfaction with the ruling party. “People are regretting giving those 11 seats to YSRCP. They think it would have been better to completely wipe them out,” he said, emphasizing the public’s growing discontent with the YSRCP.
Budda Venkanna’s criticism of the YSRCP highlights several issues, from the mismanagement of projects like Polavaram to the alleged corruption and inefficiency in the state’s administration. His remarks also reflect the growing dissatisfaction among the public with the YSRCP government.
