Chandrababu Naidu Released a White Paper Full of Lies: Merugu Nagarjuna
PaperDabba News Desk: July 15, 2024
Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna addressed the media at the YSR Congress Party Central Office.
The white paper released by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is not a white paper… it’s a document filled with lies and accusations: Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna.
Chandrababu’s Propaganda on Dasapalla Lands
Chandrababu’s loyal media has been continuously spreading false propaganda about Dasapalla lands. Chandrababu is trying to hide the truth about these lands. Courts have already declared that these lands do not belong to the government, and even the Supreme Court has confirmed this. Yet, Chandrababu continues to make baseless allegations regarding these lands.
Illegal Activities in GITAM College
Chandrababu speaks about many things but remains silent on the illegal activities at GITAM College. Former MP MVVS Murthy encroached on 38.6 acres of government land under the guise of GITAM University. Despite these lands being worth hundreds of crores, Chandrababu did not speak up during his tenure. After the YSRCP government emerged, strict actions were taken against encroachments. A total of 24.13 acres encroached by GITAM were recovered. Recovering the remaining lands was temporarily halted due to a court stay order.
Baseless Allegations on House Pattas
Chandrababu has made baseless allegations about the house pattas given to people experiencing poverty by the YSRCP government. Chandrababu did not give even a cent of land to a single low-income family during his tenure. In contrast, the YS Jagan government has distributed pattas for 28,000 acres of government land and transparently purchased another 25,000 acres for house pattas.
Discrepancies in Chandrababu’s Governance
Chandrababu served as the Chief Minister for 14 years. Did he ever support people with low incomes in this manner? Instead of helping them, he has a history of filing cases to obstruct their welfare. Since the day he won the elections, there has been uncontrolled looting of sand. Today, he claims sand is free but collects excessive charges from the public under various pretexts.
Illegal Sand Mining
Who exploited Vamsadhara? Who looted Nagavali? Who plundered the Godavari? Who ravaged the Krishna riverbed? Who are the bandits who robbed Pennar? These illegal activities took place during your tenure, Chandrababu.
Transparency in Governance
During our tenure, everything was done transparently. We invited tenders on platforms related to the central government. Due to our policies, the government earned approximately Rs. 765 crores annually from sand supply, totaling Rs. 3,825 crores over five years. Where did thousands of crores go during your five-year rule, Chandrababu? Whose pockets did they fill?
Minerals and Revenue
Your people have been looting mines and accumulating wealth for decades, Chandrababu. Under your rule, the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) in mining revenue was 17%, while it rose to 40% during our tenure.
Land Resurvey and Titling Act
Chandrababu also spoke very disparagingly and falsely about the Land Resurvey and Titling Act. The central government introduced this Act. If you believe it is wrong, why not tell the central government to repeal it? You can talk to the Prime Minister and convince him to cancel the Act, can’t you?
Straight Questions
Do you have the courage to answer these questions, Chief Minister Chandrababu? Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna bluntly questioned Chandrababu.
Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna stated that the white paper released by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is not a white paper but a document filled with lies and accusations. He believes this effort was continued only to slander YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy and make derogatory comments.
Nagarjuna strongly objected to the Chief Minister’s language, calling it highly arrogant, insulting, and filled with madness and pride. He pointed out that while Babu was once an opposition leader, he is now a Chief Minister and should be accountable for every word he utters. He stated that every point in the white paper was about them. Those who have been plundering for decades, controlling systems, and systematically occupying properties are now pretending to preach morals.
Nagarjuna ridiculed Chandrababu for releasing white papers for hours without providing a single piece of evidence. He noted that the topics discussed in the white papers were nothing more than stories from their loyal media and social media platforms, indicating their desperate situation.
Nagarjuna clarified that the Supreme Court declared that Dasapalla lands are not government lands and that the High Court also urged a quick decision on this matter. He also mentioned that during the 2015 TDP government tenure, the then Advocate General Venu Gopal made suggestions to the state government regarding these lands, which Chandrababu conveniently ignored. He reminded that 64 owners of these lands came forward to the media and stated that they willingly gave up their lands and that these statements were published in all newspapers, which Chandrababu conveniently forgot.
He criticized Chandrababu for continuously making false accusations about these lands and wasting time with lies.
Nagarjuna questioned why Chandrababu remained silent about the 38 acres of government land encroached by MVVS Murthy, a relative of his and a former MP, in GITAM College. He noted that even after providing proof of the illegal occupation, Chandrababu has not spoken about it. The YSR Congress Party government took decisive action against these encroachments, recovering 24.13 acres in the first and second phases. Recovering the remaining lands was temporarily halted due to a court stay order.
Nagarjuna questioned Chandrababu on whether he would ever discuss the illegal activities related to GITAM lands, emphasizing that the state government would take action regarding the Dasapalla and GITAM land issues.
Nagarjuna accused Chandrababu of making baseless allegations against YS Jaganmohan Reddy and the YSR Congress Party instead of addressing these issues. He stated that Chandrababu’s white paper is shameful and filled with false claims about the seizure of 1.75 lakh acres of land across the state, valued at Rs. 35,576 crores.
He challenged Chandrababu to identify even a single acre of land given to people experiencing poverty during his tenure. Nagarjuna highlighted the YSR Congress Party government’s achievements in distributing 28,000 acres of government land and another 25,000 acres purchased transparently for house sites.
Nagarjuna emphasized that Chandrababu should be ashamed for using false propaganda to mislead the public, and the people are watching these developments closely.
He concluded that Jaganmohan Reddy is the only leader who stands by his word, and Chandrababu resorts to accusations because he cannot do the same. Nagarjuna ended by asking Chandrababu if he dared to answer these questions.
