BRS Must Review Defeat, Stop Blaming the Government

PaperDabba News Desk: 11 July 2024
Even seven months after losing power, BRS leaders remain unable to emerge from their delusions. Instead of reviewing the shortcomings following the Assembly and Lok Sabha election failures, they are focused on blaming the government. Constructive criticism of the government’s shortcomings would be welcomed, but spreading confusion with disheartened statements does not benefit the public. Political victories and defeats are decided by the people, and any political party’s survival depends on public support. Despite everything, people are unimpressed with BRS chief KCR’s unchanged approach. While in power, he governed from his residence without attending the Secretariat, leading to electoral rejection. Even as the opposition leader, he avoids mingling with the people, choosing to summon workers to his residence instead.

BRS’s Failure to Accept Defeat

BRS continues to propagate that Congress came to power by chance, revealing no change in their thinking. In the Assembly elections, Congress won 64 seats while BRS secured only 39, ignoring this 25-seat difference. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BRS won nine seats but is now reduced to zero. Is this not the people’s verdict? Yet, they justify their defeat as an accident, dreaming of returning to power and ruling for 15 years. It’s rational for the ruling party to work without lapses to secure continuous victories, but claiming to bring a decimated party back to power and govern uninterruptedly for 15 years is an unrealistic dream.

Need for Constructive Opposition

Instead of throwing mud at the government, BRS should introspect their failures and make a constructive opposition effort. Highlighting government shortcomings effectively in the public sphere is welcomed. However, disheartened statements and spreading confusion are unproductive. The people decide the success and failure of political parties, and their support is crucial for any party’s continuation. Hence, understanding and addressing public needs is vital.

KCR’s Unchanged Attitude

People are criticizing KCR’s unchanged attitude. Despite rejection in elections, he has not shown willingness to change his approach. While in power, he rarely visited the Secretariat, preferring to govern from his residence. Even after losing, he hasn’t shown readiness to mingle with the public as an opposition leader. Summoning workers to his residence instead of going among them is being perceived negatively.

Realistic Political Strategies

It’s essential for any political party to have realistic strategies. Dreaming of long-term power without addressing the current shortcomings is unrealistic. BRS should focus on rebuilding their foundation by understanding and addressing public grievances. This requires a pragmatic approach and readiness to change their strategies based on public feedback. Only then can they hope to regain public support and position themselves as a viable alternative in the next elections.

Public Verdict is Supreme

Ultimately, the public’s verdict is supreme in a democracy. Political parties must respect this and work towards gaining and retaining public trust. Blaming others for their defeat will not help BRS. Instead, they should work towards understanding their own faults and addressing them to win back the people’s confidence. Public support is the foundation for any political success, and BRS needs to align their strategies with public expectations to ensure a positive future.

In conclusion, BRS needs to stop blaming the government for their defeat and focus on introspection and constructive opposition. Understanding and addressing public needs is crucial for any political success. Respecting the public verdict and working towards gaining their trust is essential for BRS to regain its position in the political landscape.
