Stock market live updates: The frontline indices held tepid losses in early deals on Wednesday tracking mixed global cues ahead of the US Fed policy outcome later in the night.
The BSE Sensex was down 100 points to 54,574, while the NSE Nifty was at 15,700, lower by 30 points.
In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices, however, sat in the positive territory, up to 0.5 per cent higher.
Sectorally, Nifty Media, Auto indices led gains, rising up to 1 per cent. Nifty IT, and pharma were other gainers. While Nifty metals shed a per cent. FMCG and oil & gas pockets were also subdued.
Among stocks, Shriram City Union Finance gained 1 per cent. The company plans to raise up to Rs 300 crore via debt securities on a private placement basis.
TV18 broadcast also rose over a per cent after Viacom 18 bagged the digital rights for IPL.
