MARKET LIVE: Sensex down 900pts, Nifty below 15,900; IT stocks buck trend



Stock market live updates: The key benchmark indices opened with sharp cuts on Thursday and extended losses in early deals as global markets fell on high US inflation data for April that has further dented the investors’ confidence.

The BSE Sensex shed 800 points to 53,250, and the NSE Nifty fell 200 points to slip below 16,000 level.

In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were also weak, falling up to 1.8 per cent.

Sectorally, PSB index on the Nifty was the worst hit, falling over 3 per cent. All other pockets also suffered steep losses, with Auto, Metals, Consumer Durables, and Realty, down up to 2.7 per cent.

As of 11:20 am, Delhivery IPO has been subscribed 22 per cent, led by retail category that was subscribed 34 per cent. 

Meanwhile, Venus Pipes’ offer has been subscribed over 3 times so far. The retail and NII catgories have been subscribed 5 and 1.4 times, respectively. 

Prudent Advisory’s issue has been subscribed 61 per cent so far on the last day. Retail category has been subscribed 1.1 times.
