MARKET LIVE: Sensex up 200 pts, Nifty near 16,350; Private Banks lead

Stock market live updates: After swinging between zones in early deals, the key benchmark indices were seen firming up in the noon trades on the back of buying in private bank majors.

The BSE Sensex was up around 300 points, while the NSE Nifty added 75-odd points.

The broader markets however traded with a negative bias. The BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were down 0.8 per cent and 0.3 per cent, respectively. Among sectors, the Power index was down nearly 2 per cent.

Among other stocks, GNFC zoomed up to 11 per cent after the company’s Q4 net profit more-than-doubled to Rs 643.26 crore. PVR also gained 4 per cent as the multiplex chain operator reported narrowing of its consolidated net loss to Rs 105.49 crore.

Debutant Rainbow Children’s Medicare (RCML), a multi-speciality pediatric hospital chain, started trade on a weak note, down 7 per cent compared to its issue price. READ MORE HERE

Meanwhile, in the primary market, Prudent Corporate Advisory Services issue was subscribed up to 28 per cent as of 2:00 PM.
