A masked, armed robber, dressed in military style clothes, held a lost dog’s home employee at gun point and tied her up before demanding to know where the cats were.

Police were told the offender approached the woman in the car park of the Thompsons Road lost dog’s home in Cranbourne West about 11.30pm on Monday when he pointed a gun at her.

He walked her into the animal welfare property and then tied her up before asking where the cats were.

He then left the room and didn’t return.

The woman was able to free herself and phoned for help.

She was not injured during the bizarre incident.

Police scoured the property, but could not locate the man, who was reportedly dressed in military style clothes and was wearing a mask.

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
