The eldest daughter of former prime minister Tony Abbott has announced she’s expecting her first child.
Frances Loch, who changed her surname after getting married to husband Sam Loch on Valentine’s day 2018, shared a photo of her blossoming baby bump on Instagram on Monday morning.
“BIG LITTLE BABY LOCH. Joining the party Summer ’21,” she captioned the black and white image.
The 29-year-old also accompanied the post with a string of excited emojis, including the heart eyed emoji and the party emoji.
Frances, who lives in Portland in the US state of Oregon with her Olympian rower turned weightlifter husband, can be seen tenderly touching her stomach in the snap as her head tilts back with a beaming smile.
The former bodybuilder didn’t state how far along in her pregnancy she was, but with the summer season she’s referring to being on the opposite side of the equator to her Sydney home in Australia, she is likely due in July or August.
Fans have fast flooded the comments section with messages of congratulations, many stating she will make an “amazing” mother.
The baby is the couple’s first child together since getting together in November 2017.
Frances shocked Australia when she got engaged to Sam after just two weeks of dating after meeting through a mutual friend.
At the time she told Stellar people thought it was “really fast” but it just felt “natural” to them.
“When I am around him, I am like, ‘This is what it’s meant to be like.’ Life is short, and love is special, and sometimes you just need to follow your instincts,” she told the publication.
Loch, 34, is a former professional rower who has competed in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
The pair moved to Oregon in 2018 where Frances documents her love of yoga with regular videos of her workouts.
