A Sydney teenager’s visit to a regional NSW bar has sent more than 60 people into isolation.

The 18-year-old went to the Birdie Noshery and Drinking Establishment in Orange on January 3 while unknowingly infectious with coronavirus, prompting an urgent alert from health authorities.

He also visited sites in Broken Hill and Nyngan.

Western NSW Local Health District originally said there were 26 close contacts as a result of the Orange exposure site but that number has now been changed to 61 people, a spokeswoman confirmed.

Anyone who visited the Birdie Noshery and Drinking Establishment in Orange on Sunday, January 3 from 12.00pm to 2pm is considered a close contact and should get tested immediately and isolate regardless of their test result.

Residents in all three regional towns have been urged to get tested.

The man also visited the Nyngan Riverside Tourist Park on January 2 and January 3. Anyone there is also considered close contacts of the positive case.

The same goes for Gourmet Cribtin in Broken Hill. Anyone there on January 2 between midday and 2pm needs to get tested and isolate for two weeks.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro said drive-through testing clinics have been set up in suburbs and towns with known exposure sites.

“We are committed to putting in place resources, regardless of where you are in New South Wales, to get tested,” he said on Wednesday.

“Again, my plea to the people of western New South Wales, in Nyngan, Orange, Broken Hill, if you‘re not feeling well, come out and get tested.”

NSW recorded four new cases on Wednesday.
