A host of AFL clubs were out in force on Wednesday as pre-season training began to ramp up.

The Greater Western Sydney Giants completed the dreaded 2km time trial as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2020 season – and they were a sight to see in the always-jarring GPS tops.

There were plenty of new faces on show as St Kilda hit the track. The Saints were one of the busiest clubs at trade time and were putting new quartet Shaun McKern, Jack Higgins, James Frawley and Brad Crouch through their paces.

Speaking of new faces – Joe Daniher still has the same moustache but he’s in new colours at Brisbane this year.

Like the Lions, Port Adelaide finished one game short of the grand final in 2020 and is also hoping an ex-Bomber can help lift them into the big dance.

Orazio Fantasia was on show as the Power’s full squad returned.

Meanwhile, Western Bulldogs young gun Tim English was looking “bigger and stronger” at his first training session of 2021, with the ruckman evidently working on his physique over the off-season.

“He’s looking bigger and stronger and his golf game is getting better, too, so he’s pretty happy about where he’s at,” teammate Hayden Crozier said, as reported by The Herlad Sun.

The AFL’s pre-season games begin on February 18.
