Full list of venues on alert as COVID-19 spreads outside Sydney

Venues more than 90km south of the Sydney CBD have been added to the coronavirus hotspot list after a Wollongong resident tested positive to the virus.

The person, to be included in Wednesday’s numbers, visited several venues while infectious sparking huge queues at testing clinics in the large coastal town.

Two churches in Wollongong are among the latest venues to be put on alert, as well as the city’s major shopping centre.

Anyone who has attended the following venues at the listed times is urged to immediately get tested and self-isolate until they get further advice from NSW Health.

WOLLONGONG: St Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church, 39 Atchison St, December 27,

9am-10.15am.

WOLLONGONG: The Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 18 Stewart St, December 27,

10.30am-11am.

Anyone who visited any of the following venues at the listed times is considered a casual contact who must get tested immediately and isolate until a negative result is received.

FIGTREE: Figtree Grove Shopping Centre, 19 Princes Hwy, December 21, 12.30pm-1.30pm and December 23, 8.45am-9am, December 24, 6.45am-9.30am.

FIGTREE: Proust Optical, Shop 49, Figtree Grove Shopping Centre, 19 Princes Hwy, December 21, 9.30am-5pm and December 23 9.30am-2pm (Close contacts from this venue will be contacted by NSW Health)

WOLLONGONG: Wollongong Central, December 23, 3.30-4pm

On Tuesday NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealed the Wollongong case had recently visited Sydney but any links to the Avalon cluster remain unknown.

Now health authorities are scrambling to determine how this person came to be infected.

“I am not ruling out they are linked to the Avalon cluster … the case from Wollongong had been in Sydney, but until those links are established all of us in Greater Sydney must be on high alert,” Ms Berejiklian said.

Hundreds of people have already swarmed testing clinics in Wollongong after it was revealed the outbreak had escaped the northern beaches.

Other recent locations on alert (casual contacts) include:

BONDI BEACH: Woolworths Metro, 184 Campbell Pde, December 20 – 5pm to 6pm

EDGECLIFF: Coles, New South Head Rd and Ocean Ave, December 20 – 7pm – 7.30pm

SYDNEY: Kinokuniya Sydney, 500 George St, December 20 – 3pm – 3.45pm

SYDNEY: David Jones, 86-108 Castlereagh St, December 20 – 2.10pm-2.45pm

SYDNEY: Uniqlo, MidCity Centre, Level 1, 197 Pitt Street Mall, December 20 – 4pm- 4.15pm

Anyone who has visited these venues is encouraged to monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately should any arise.
