Since the pandemic began, Aussies have been told that food delivery is the best way to avoid exposure to coronavirus.
But a recent outbreak at a popular pizza bar in the north of Adelaide has potentially thrown that idea into question.
SA Health issued an immediate self-quarantine warning for any customers that visited Woodville Pizza Bar earlier this month — even those that had their pizza delivered to their home.
The alert, sent just before midnight yesterday, asked that all customers who had ordered or spent time at the pizza bar from November 6 to November 16 to quarantine immediately.
The quarantine order also applied to anyone living with Woodville Pizza Bar customers including family and roommates.
“People who visited across this period should seek testing as soon as possible. They must go directly to the testing location, wear a mask and alert the staff that they have visited the pizza bar,” SA Health said.
The isolation warning comes a day after South Australian health authorities admitted more than 4000 people were considered close contacts across Adelaide and were in quarantine.
“These people have been advised to quarantine and they are being contacted on a daily basis for a symptom check,” South Australia’s chief public health officer Professor Nicola Spurrier told reporters yesterday.
“This is a huge amount of work, as you can imagine, to make sure that we are in regular contact with these people.”
The Woodville Pizza Bar joins the list of a growing number of venues that SA Health has issued immediate isolation orders for.
