Just days after she was cut off by the network mid-press conference, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany has brandished stacks of legal documents alleging voter fraud in a bizarre appearance on Fox News.

Despite the US election being called for Joe Biden over the weekend, President Donald Trump has refused to accept defeat – and along with his team, Ms McEnany included, doubled down on allegations of widespread fraud.

In a series of tweets yesterday Mr Trump declared that his campaign was making “BIG PROGRESS”, adding, “WE WILL WIN!” and that there had been “BALLOT COUNTING ABUSE!”

Along with Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel, Ms McEnany vowed in the Hannity interview that they would continue to contest the election results until the end, presenting 234 pages of affidavits that she claimed were proof election fraud had taken place.

“We keep hearing the drum beat of where is the evidence, but right here, Sean. 234 pages of sworn affidavits, these are real people, real allegations, signed with notaries who are alleging the following among other contentions,” she told host Sean Hannity.

“They’re alleging – this is one county, Wayne County, Michigan – they’re saying that there was a batch of ballots where 60 per cent had the same signature. They’re saying that 35 ballots had no voter record, but they were counted anyway. That 50 ballots were run multiple times through a tabulation machine. That one woman said her son was deceased, but nevertheless, somehow voted.

“These are one of many, many allegations in one county, and a county no less where poll watchers were threatened with racial harassment, they were pushed out of the way, and Democrat challengers were handing out documents ‘How to distract GOP challengers’.

“These are real and anyone who cares about transparency and integrity of the system should want this to proceed to the discovery phase.”

It’s worth noting that none of the claims Ms McEnany – who added that the President “wants justice for the 72 million plus forgotten” Americans – made in the interview have been verified.

Speaking in her “personal capacity” during what she told reporters was a campaign event at the RNC headquarters on Tuesday, Ms McEnany said Republicans want “every legal vote to be counted, and every illegal vote to be discarded” – which is when Fox News stopped their broadcast of the briefing.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa – I just think we have to be very clear,” host Neil Cavuto said after the network cut away from Ms McEnany.

“She’s charging the other side as welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting. Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue to show you this.”

Cavuto said Ms McEnany’s charge – that Mr Biden and the Democrats “is effectively rigging and cheating” – was an “explosive” one to make without “something to back that up”.

“If she does bring proof of that, of course we’ll take you back. So far she has started saying, right at the outset – ‘welcoming fraud, welcoming illegal voting’. Not so fast,” he added.
