It’s a typical Wednesday night in Adelaide and you decide to hit the bar with a friend after dinner.

The last person you’d imagine seeing is Zac Efron but for some lucky South Australians, that was the reality on Wednesday night.

Twenty-year-old Anabel Renfrey posted footage saying she had seen the superstar at venue Cry Baby in Adelaide’s CBD.

‘Imagine hitting Cry Baby on a Wednesday only to see and meet Zac Efron,” the Instagram post said.

Ms Renfrey said she spotted the Hollywood heart-throb at the bar and invited him to her 21st birthday in three weeks time.

“We were sitting just near him and he walked past us to the booth next to us and as he walked past I looked up at him (nervously) and said hi,” she told NCA NewsWire.

“He stepped aside to us and said hi and asked how we were going and what our names were … He was so lovely and chilled. He just smiled at everyone.

“His eyes go really shiny when he smiles in movies and it’s exactly the same in person.”

Miss Renfrey, of Blackwood, said Efron, who was wearing a beanie and a hoodie, was with an entourage of about 10 people and appeared relaxed as he had few drinks at the bar.

There have also been anecdotal reports of the Hollywood heart-throb seen at The Little Pub on Hindley St on Friday night.

Efron is in SA filming a Stan original feature movie Gold in which he will star alongside Anthony Hayes and award-winning actor Susie Porter.

Hayes will also direct the film, which is based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Polly Smyth.

Efron flew into Adelaide last week from NSW where he has been living with girlfriend Vanessa Valladares.
