Former Beauty and the Geek runner-up turned drug dealer Jordan Finlayson is eyeing an early release date from jail as she prepares to appeal her sentence.

Finlayson, 29, was in April sentenced to at least two years and three months behind bars after being caught in a heroin dealing ring alongside her boyfriend Martin Roser.

The one-time Cronulla Sharks cheerleader was arrested at Roser’s inner Sydney apartment in June 2019 after selling tens of thousands of dollars in drugs to undercover police officers.

She later pleaded guilty in court to the ongoing supply of heroin and ice and the commercial supply of GBL in 2019.

On Thursday the Supreme Court heard she would appeal her jail sentence but would wait out the next five months in custody before the March 8 hearing date.

This year Finlayson admitted she was at “rock bottom” and was “disgusted” at how her life spiralled into heavy drug use and trafficking, District Court Judge Phillip Mahony SC said at her sentencing.

Judge Maloney handed her a maximum of four years and three months jail, setting a parole date in September 2021.

The former lingerie model had once posed for Penthouse and had more than 40,000 Instagram followers.

But by the time of her arrest she was spending $5000 per week on drugs and would claim in court that jail had probably saved her life.

“It’s shameful, I wish it had never happened … people can die of it,” Finlayson told a doctor.

She said she wanted to return to modelling upon her release from jail but above all wanted to make her parents “proud of their daughter” again.
