NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has snapped at a reporter “let me finish” after being cut off mid-sentence while trying to answer a question about her relationship with former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire.
“Excuse me, let me finish. I’ve given you your turn, let me finish,” the Premier fired back.
Ms Berejiklian went on to reiterate that what she did in her public life and her personal life was completely separate.
“I apologise for the distraction, it was out of my control. I apologise for that completely,” she said.
“I never have and never would do anything wrong by the people of this state. I have been overwhelmed by the comments and the support I’ve received.
“I would be the first one to admit if I had done something wrong but I have not.”
She said it has been hard to be open about things which are difficult to talk about but that she owes transparency to NSW residents.
“Imagine knowing someone for 15 years, someone who we trusted did the wrong thing by all of us,” she said.
