Restrictions have been eased around the country, allowing more people to gather outdoors in NSW, while in Victoria children return to classrooms.
But the first few days of this version of “COVID-normal” appear to have gotten off to a poor start.
Byron Bay Deputy Mayor Michael Lyon has said it was “disappointing that we’ve developed some complacency” after footage emerged of people crowding on to a beach last Friday, before the restrictions had actually been lifted.
In Melbourne, where children have started returning to classrooms, a photo of a crowded after school pickup has been branded “absolutely crazy” on social media.
