It’s got a cult following across the country and now you can enjoy it from the comfort of your own home.

Messina is launching a new product across supermarkets today, sure to send fans into a frenzy.

After collaborating with Drumstick on a limited edition ice cream last year, the popular company has now rolled out its own product.

The Messina Gelato Bars come in three flavours – choc hazelnut, espresso dulce de leche and strawberry cheesecake.

“We’re happy to say we’re done with short term flings and are finally ready to commit,” Messina said in a statement.

“Using some of our own Messina-made ingredients and working with the product development buffs at Peters Ice Cream, we’ve come up with three delicious flavours, in a new gelato bar format.”

The bars are layered with a biscuit and covered in chocolate.

“With warmer weather hitting most of the country, securing your first taste of a Messina Gelato Bar will require planning to avoid crowds and FOMO,” they said.

The new Messina Gelato Bars are available at Coles, Woolworths and independent grocery stores today for $10 for a four pack.

Gelato Messina has grown from a single store which opened in Darlinghurst in 2002, to 20 stores across east coast Australia, all privately owned and operated.

At each Messina store, you’ll find 40 freshly churned flavours, with 35 traditional flavours and five rotating weekly specials each week.
