Trent Robinson cut a frustrated figure in the Roosters’ coaching box as his side fell to a 29-28 defeat at the hands of the Penrith Panthers.

A visibly irate Robinson banged on the window during much of the second half.

He then sent a spray in the direction of Josh Mansour as he tried to run down the clock with 20 seconds left.

The three-time premiership winning coach seemed to mouth: “Get up, you f***ing soft p***k” at the Panthers winger.

It follows a frustrating seven days for the Roosters coach, who after seeing his side lose 60-8 to rivals South Sydney, saw his side conceded 28 points in a 35-minute spell at Panthers stadium.

Robinson’s usually calm demeanour was a direct contrast to his behaviour on Friday night.

Speaking on Fox League, Greg Alexander suggested Robinson had every reason to feel unnerved by his side’s display.

“I can imagine he would be a bit rattled, Trent Robinson,” Alexander said.

“His side was just cruising up until last week, everyone thought they were going to beat Souths.

“Nobody gave Souths a chance because of the form of the Roosters, all of sudden they have 60 put on them.

“Then (on Friday) they lead 10-0 and then get blown off park in the opening 40 minutes and are down 22-10 at halftime.”

Braith Anasta, meanwhile, claimed that Robinson’s first defeat in a finals game in two years was a cause for concern.

He said the performance and Robinson’s behaviour was out of character.

“You don’t see that too often, it shows how much the game meant to him,” Anasta said.

“Does it show he’s not as comfortable up in that coach’s box?

“You don’t usually see that reaction because they’ve been in control for so long.

“They back themselves, they kind of know they’re going to win when they need to – all of a sudden the cage has been rattled.”
