Block couple Luke and Jasmin’s ‘copycat’ controversy rumbles on in Sunday’s episode – this time, the pair turn in a kitchen bench that’s suspiciously similar to the one rival team Daniel and Jade have built.

Daniel and Jade’s curved creation comes courtesy of custom furniture builder Christian Cole, and had been in the works for a while:

By contrast, Luke and Jasmin’s tradie declares their very similar curved kitchen bench a “midnight effort” as they race to Sunday’s kitchen reveal:

“Christian Cole came along, put (Daniel and Jade’s bench) in … and isn’t it weird how the next day…” foreman Keith can be heard saying in a teaser trailer for Sunday’s episode.

Luke and Jasmin are even shown laughing about the similarities between the two benches, with Luke dubbing his tradie: “My mini Christian Cole!”

An unhappy looking Daniel is shown saying he’ll let “the public decide at home” if the benches are too similar.

It’s unfortunate timing for WA couple Luke and Jasmin, who have weathered a copycat scandal this week both on air and online amid accusations they copied their winning children’s bedroom from a room in a high-profile Byron Bay Airbnb.

Judge Shaynna Blaze confronted the pair about the similarities in Tuesday’s episode, telling them there was a difference between “inspiration” and “completely taking someone else’s idea”.

An episode later, host Scott Cam weighed in, calling the two rooms “virtually identical.”

And Luke and Jasmin sensationally slammed Blaze in an interview with news.com.au on Wednesday, saying they were “blindsided” by her visit and labelling her “insincere” and a “smart-arse.”

Luke and Jasmin have deleted their Facebook page and restricted comments on their joint Instagram account as they’ve been met with a barrage of criticism from viewers.

One couple who know all about that are last year’s contestants Mitch and Mark, who reached out to Luke and Jasmin with a message of “support and positive wishes”.

“Hope you guys are doing OK and know from our experience it all goes away,” the pair wrote in a comment on a recent Luke and Jasmin Instagram post.

“It’s definitely come as a surprise just how nasty the online world can be. We’ve never had people dislike us. So this is all new. We’ve deleted Facebook so we don’t see anything on there. Staying positive about our beautiful home and focusing on the rooms left and the auction,” wrote Luke and Jasmin.

The Block continues 7pm Sunday on Nine
