No team should be without either Hungry Heart or Dame Giselle when SuperCoach Racing commences this Saturday.

The three-year-old fillies dominate the Flight Stakes market and should be a lock for first and second-place Group 1 points.

But which horses should fill the remainder of your stable?

Our racing experts offer their selection advice on which horses to pick – and avoid – at Randwick and Flemington.

CHRIS VERNUCCIO’S TEAM

Classique Legend $375,000

Mugatoo $325,000

Rock $300,000

Dame Giselle $225,000

Hungry Heart (C) $200,000

General Beau $125,000

Construct $100,000

Kalashnikov $100,000

Enthaar $100,000

Total Babe $100,000

Selfless (emg) $50,000

MUST HAVE: Hungry Heart and Dame Giselle

No-brainers here. Dame Giselle has beaten Hungry Heart twice this prep, but I’m tipping HH will be stronger over 1600m in the Group 1 Flight Stakes, which is why she’s also my captain.

VALUE PICK: Mugatoo

Unbeaten this campaign and his win in the Newcastle Cup was his best in Australia to date. Deserved favourite in The Metropolitan.

BEST CHEAPIES: Enthaar and Kalashnikov

The two favourites in the two-year-old races at Randwick, which are both Group 3s. Enthaar ran the quickest trial of the morning, which is incredible for a juvenile.

STEER CLEAR: Avilius

Hasn’t won in more than 12 months and needs a softer track to produce his best. Too expensive at $450k.

LEO SCHLINK’S TEAM

Verry Elleegant $475,000

Mugatoo $325,000

Hungry Heart $200,000

Wisdom Of Water $200,000

September Run $175,000

Succeed Indeed $150,000

General Beau $125,000

Young Werther $125,000

Enthaar $100,000

Naples $75,000

Deep Speed (emg) $50,000

MUST HAVE: General Beau

Won as he wished on debut and shapes as a serious talent.

VALUE PICK: Succeed Indeed

One of several Malua Lodge gallopers on the rise. Capable of taking another step this weekend.

BEST CHEAPIE: Enthaar

On debut and heavily supported on the basis of effortless trial victory.

STEER CLEAR: High-priced horses running in the Epsom … not trained by Chris Waller.

JETT HATTON’S TEAM

Master Of Wine $375,000

Zoutori $350,000

Zebrowski $250,000

Dame Giselle (C) $225,000

Hungry Heart $200,000

Vanna Girl $200,000

Itzhot $125,000

Yes Baby Yes $125,000

Alridge $50,000

Amber One $50,000

Always In Moment (emg) $50,000

Jockey: James McDonald

MUST HAVES: Hungry Heart and Dame Giselle

Has been a two-horse affair in the 2020 Princess Series and the Flight Stakes is at their mercy. Expecting one of the two to win and at the cheap price they are a must to have in your team.

VALUE PICK: Vanna Girl

She was good last time out in the Tramway and drops right down to 50kg for the Epsom. A good pace should mean she’s finishing strongly and at the $200,000, Vanna Girl is the clear value pick.

BEST CHEAPIE: Itzhot

Found it hard to find a good cheapie this week but I’ve gone with Itzhot at $125,000. Beat the promising Flying Award during his juvenile preparation and should have returned a more mature three-year-old. Not saying it wins but Itzhot looks the best chance at a small price.

STEER CLEAR: Nature Strip

Not saying Nature Strip won’t win but I wouldn’t be locking him up for $500,000 in a Group 2 where he faces the talented Classique Legend.

BRAD WATERS’ TEAM

Classique Legend $375,000

Django Freeman $275,000

Lord Belvedere $275,000

Schabau $225,000

Hungry Heart (C) $200,000

Succeed Indeed $150,000

Queen Of Rocks $125,000

Young Werther $125,000

General Beau $125,000

Ingratiating $75,000

Selfless (emg) $50,000

Jockey: Damien Oliver

MUST HAVE: Hungry Heart

I’ve looked for three-year-olds running in Group 1 & Group 2 races this week. Horses such as Hungry Heart are a must have as they can earn the same points as a $500,000 horse. She’s my captain this week in the Flight Stakes.

VALUE PICK: Queen Of Rocks and Succeed Indeed

Terrific value at $125,000 and $150,000 respectively. Both are great chances in a Group 2 race worth 32 points to the winner.

BEST CHEAPIE: Ingratiating

Thought he went well in his jumpouts and can earn me up to 18 points in the first at Flemington. Great value as he will probably increase in price after Saturday.

STEER CLEAR: Nature Strip

Too expensive this week at $500,000 going into a Group 2 race in Sydney. Your $500k horses need to tackling Group 1 races to justify the price tag and I’ve got Classique Legend running for me in the Premiere Stakes.

MITCH COHEN’S TEAM

Rondinella (C) $325,000

Rock $300,000

Toffee Tongue $250,000

Zebrowski $250,000

Dadoozdart $200,000

Collide $200,000

Hungry Heart $200,000

Montefilia $175,000

Total Babe $100,000

Miravalle $75,000

Retrieval (emg) $75,000

Jockey: Tommy Berry

MUST HAVE: Rock

The Hawkes Racing galloper looks a great chance in Saturday’s Group 1 Epsom Handicap and has Sydney’s form man Tommy Berry in the saddle. He’s my banker.

VALUE PICK: Hungry Heart

She’s favourite for a Group 1 in a small field. It’s hard to see her finishing outside the top three at worst.

BEST CHEAPIE: Miravalle

Her run in the Tea Rose Stakes was sensational and if she can settle closer she could be a chance of causing a Flight Stakes boilover.

STEER CLEAR: Kolding

He’s a great horse, coming off a Group 1 win but happy to stay away at such a big price over the 2000m.
