The daughter of former Olympians Grant Kenny and Lisa Curry, Jaimi Kenny, has been laid to rest on the Sunshine Coast in emotional scenes in front of dozens of friends and family.

Ms Curry was inconsolable when leaving the chapel, breaking down in tears as she was supported by her husband Mark Tabone and son Jett.

Friends and family were dressed in bright colours and florals as they came together to remember Jaimi.

The white coffin carrying Jaimi was covered in pink and orange dahlias with Jett and Kenny leading the pallbearers.

Since her parents revealed Jaimi had died on Monday, tributes have been pouring in from friends, family and wellwishers.

Lisa Curry took to Instagram on Tuesday, saying she could “barely breathe” after losing her daughter.

“Our hearts are completely broken,” she wrote. “Our beautiful daughter Jaimi has lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully in hospital (on Monday) morning with her loving family by her side.

“So loved. So beautiful. So kind to everyone … So painful. I can barely breathe.

“Jaimi will forever be remembered as a caring, bright and loving soul who always put others before herself. Her love of flowers, cooking, art, decorating, photography, babies, the beach, and helping others will always be remembered.

“Our hearts are broken and the pain is unbearable but we cherish every wonderful moment we got to share with our treasured and so loved first child.”

Kenny and Curry married in 1986 but amicably split in 2009 after raising their three children before finalising their divorce in 2017.

In a deeply personal tribute, brother Jett said: “I may not have been the best brother to you all the time, I know you thought you weren’t being the big sister I needed all the time, but I do know we loved one another unconditionally all the time.”

Sister Morgan said “it still doesn’t feel real that you are not here”.

“I am grateful for you. There is no one like you. I love you so much and will forever miss you. Rest now beautiful sister. You will never be forgotten,” she added.

Countless others have also offered tributes and memories of a life cut short.

Jaimi was reportedly left “heartbroken and traumatised” after the death of the love of her life and fought a “lengthy and complex alcohol-related health battle” before dying, the Saturday Telegraph reported.

Jaimi was “shattered” by the death of boyfriend Lachy Crossley in 2017.

The pair met after Jaimi returned to the Sunshine Coast after a stint living in Melbourne.

“They had plans to be together forever … people described them as a modern-day Romeo and Juliet,” Mr Crossley’s mother, Gail, told the Saturday Telegraph.
