Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield has taken a tongue-in-cheek swipe at footy reporters Damian Barrett and Tom Browne as he flipped the script on reporters Thursday.
With AFL media figures inside the league’s Gold Coast quarantine hub assembled for a media conference with chief executive Gillon McLachlan, Dangerfield played the role of paparazzi, secretly filming from inside a nearby Geelong weights room session.
With comments that got chuckles out of teammates Gary Ablett and Tom Hawkins, Dangerfield poked fun of Barrett’s ensemble and poked holes in Browne’s marking technique.

Dangerfield captured his take-downs and posted the videos to Twitter so all footy fans could enjoy his light-hearted bake.
The former Crows star was clearly more than a little bored as he watched on while the assembled press waited for McLachlan to arrive.
He started by questioning Barrett’s threads, which included an untucked white shirt with grey trousers and a blazer hanging off his arm.
“Like he’s got a jacket, he hasn’t tucked his shirt in. Who does he think he is?,” Dangerfield said with a laugh as he zoomed his camera onto Barrett.
“Damian, I will give you a sliding doors moment for this weekend and it’s tuck in or no tuck in? Tuck it in Damian.”
Hawkins responded: “That’s poor attention to detail”.
Dangerfield was only getting warmed up.
He went on to declare Barrett’s ruffled look was “almost peacocking”.
The 30-year-old also singled out Browne for his sloppy attack on the football during a game of kick to kick.
By the end of the press conference, where McLachlan announced the AFL’s migration to Queensland in its hour of need will ultimately see $60 million pumped into the Queensland economy, Dangerfield and the TV reporters were all happy to have a laugh about it.
It also gave Browne and Barrett a chance to explain their clothing selections.
