When famous chocolate brand Nutella launched its hazelnut-flavoured biscuits last year, Aussies had to look overseas to get their hands on the in-demand product.
That was up until five days ago, when a Sydney convenience store revealed it is now stocking the popular item – as well as another addition to the brand’s product range, the Nutella B-ready chocolate bar.
Redfern Convenience Store in Sydney’s inner-city caused a frenzy when it shared a photo of the two products to its 24,000 Instagram followers, with many in disbelief they can now purchase the items here in Australia.
“I am gunna (sic) go down. I was looking for those Nutella Bars they have them in Lebanon but not here,” one follower wrote.
“I’m sure I’ll spend at least $100 going here – so many options,” said another.
“Found them!” a third person commented.
“Ummmmm we need to make a trip down,” wrote a fourth, while tagging a friend.
However, if you’re in desperate need and prefer not to physically attend the store or live elsewhere in the country, then fear not, the owner confirmed you can order the product online via the store’s website.
The Nutella Ferrero Biscuits which are made from shortbread with an outer layer of the hazelnut spread are sold for $20 (304g), while the B-Ready bars featuring a crunchy wafer shell with Nutella inside are sold for $6 (2-pack).
While it’s not yet known if or when the items will be sold in Australia, Nutella’s parent company Ferrero said since launching the hazelnut biscuits in France last year, sales of the new product are three times higher than its next nearest rival in the market.
